Sturek Media, Inc. is a family-owned business of first generation newspaper publishers, starting with The Pender Times in March 2009 and the Dakota County Star in December 2016.

The Star has been sold to Michael Carnes of Mikey C Productions, LLC effective June 1, 2024.
